Fresh, Healthy Food Can Be Purchased During The Parramore Farmers Market
We understand the importance of purchasing your grocery needs while remaining true to a healthy lifestyle. That’s why we encourage everyone to take a trip to the Parramore Farmers Market on Saturday, May 18, where you can find all that you need and more!
Purchase quality, fresh and healthy food grown in your own neighborhood by local farmers, including Fleet Farming, Growing Orlando and other community growers. The market features local vendors, the sale of Black Bee Honey (a startup run by Parramore Kidz Zone) and a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program booth where patrons may use their EBT cards to receive tokens to spend in the market.
This weekly farmers market is part of the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program Grant received by the city. With this grant, the city is working to provide access to quality, fresh and healthy food in the West Orlando neighborhoods that have been deemed as “food deserts.” This program will also help in giving residents the opportunity to start or grow a business by encouraging entrepreneurship.
The market is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We hope that you stop by and shop for an array of fresh, local goods available to you, your family, and friends!
At College Park Towers, the premier apartments in Orlando, Florida, we consider ourselves lucky to be located in a thriving community with so much excitement happening daily. Support local events and make plans to check this exciting one out on Saturday!
